Many of us go to Disney World Florida and Spend 3-4 days at the Disney World Theme Park and believe me it is all worth it and fun! But during our last visit, we thought we try visiting Disney Downtown Area and we were pleasantly surprised at things to do there so I thought of sharing a few attraction highlights here. I love that admission and parking there are free! After spending so much money on theme park and souvenirs, I sure love not spending money on admission and parking, don’t you love it too?

Things to Do in Disney Downtown:

So, okay parking and admission are free, are there cool things to do there? Well, it is not a theme park kind of things to do, but family will find something to do for everyone and every age. Check it out, before you think it is worth going there or not.

What’s there to do when you’re not in the Parks or it’s way after dark? Day or night at Downtown Disney area, choose from dining with dinosaurs to a distinctly Disney shopping extravaganza to catching incredible live music and shows!

Disney Downtown is divided into 3 sections—

  1. Downtown Disney West Side,
  2. Downtown Disney Marketplace and
  3. Pleasure Island—

Downtown Disney area is an ever-changing destination committed to keeping the experiences exciting and new.

Downtown Disney West Side

Downtown Disney West Side showcases top-notch restaurants, the 24-screen AMC Downtown Disney 24 movie theater, and other uncommon shops. Here you’ll also find the exquisite Cirque du Soleil  live entertainment show and the DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive theme park.

Downtown Disney Marketplace

Downtown Disney Marketplace provides an appealing place to take a break from Disney Theme Parks and Water Parks—especially if you’re in search of Disney merchandise. Check out the largest Disney character store in the world. Or, for more of a respite, relax and dine at a lakeside restaurant.

Pleasure Island

Enjoy a brand new mix of shopping and dining experiences at Pleasure Island as it is transformed through 2011. Raglan Road Irish Pub & Bar, Fuego by Sosa Cigars, Paradiso 37, Curl by Sammy Duval, and outdoor food and beverage locations remain open during the transition. Entertainment at Downtown Disney area takes place throughout the day and into the night with a wide array of acrobatic artistry, art, theater, music and even an indoor interactive theme park.

Dining at Downtown Disney area includes quick-service restaurants that serve fast snacks, as well as numerous specialized eateries that offer regional, ethnic and elegant fare. Many restaurants offer panoramic views of Buena Vista Lagoon; others provide live entertainment.

Shopping

Shopping at Downtown Disney area means finding everything from magnets to music to Disney character merchandise in the world’s largest Disney store. Participate in pin trading, pick out some apparel or perhaps get a princess makeover at the unique Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

Transportation

Transportation to and from the Downtown Disney area is available via bus throughout Walt Disney World Resort and is complimentary for Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guests.
